Every position has a
forced mate — a move order that ends in checkmate no matter
what your opponent does. Find the one move that starts it.
- Click a piece, then click where it goes. Only legal moves are offered.
- The key move is unique: a different move may win material, but it will not mate in time.
- Your opponent answers with its best defence; keep going until the board is mate.
- Hint lights up the piece to move — using it ends your streak.
Solving mating patterns is the fastest way to sharpen tactical vision: back-rank mates,
smothered mates, and queen-and-knight nets all show up here.
